In today’s competitive economy, job success depends very much on learning everything possible about your product and its potential customer. You need to be familiar with the market challenges and the day-to-day issues affecting the customer.
Our mission at CYMOTIVE is to secure smart mobility from cyberattacks, and towards that goal, we met with the champions from “Champion Motors”, the Israeli importer of Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, CUPRA, and SKODA.
Our visit’s focus was to get a deeper look into electric vehicles from the customers’ and the mechanics’ perspectives. We wanted to see the mechanical perspective of the electric vehicle’s lifecycle, particularly regarding the reasons for and its frequency when to visit a garage. We also gained insights to the vehicle’s components, its ECUs (Electronic Control Unit), while inside and outside the vehicle – and even disassembling some ECUs for a deeper level of understanding. Finally, we were privileged to see a real vehicle that arrived at the garage for maintenance. We were able to connect to the vehicle as part of the maintenance process, and to run and analyze diagnostics directly from the vehicle.
In our Tel Aviv office, we typically work with vehicles and their ECUs remotely or in debug mode. However, the classic expression “A picture is worth 1000 words” perfectly describes our visit. Seeing hundreds of ECUs inside a real vehicle is not only fascinating, but also brings to life the complexity of automotive cybersecurity and the value of CYMOTIVE’s significant contribution to smart mobility.
